Calling For On-Site Truck and Equipment Repair Can Save Your Schedule!

Mainline Truck Team • June 17, 2022

When you're on a long haul, there's a lot that can go wrong on the road - and you may not see a service station anywhere nearby. If you're experiencing mechanical problems, it might be tempting to try to drive yourself to a service station anyway, but that's dangerous, as well as risking even worse damage to your truck.

In most cases, the better option is to pull over and call for on-site truck and equipment repair from a truck service shop

that offers emergency services. Emergency services cost a little more, but they can get you back on the road in time to salvage your schedule.

Why Call for Emergency On-Site Truck Repair?

1 - Prevent lost time

If your truck is too damaged to drive to a nearby service station, you're looking at lost hours in any situation - but you should lose as little time as possible. Many types of repairs can be performed on the roadside when you contact a truck repair shop with robust emergency response options. If you can diagnose the problem yourself, from your truck's computer system, even better: the mechanic can arrive fully prepared to deal with it.

Of course, sometimes a tow is inevitable, but that should be a last resort. Having to be towed to a station will absolutely wreck your delivery time. (Although that's still better than wrecking your truck.)

2 - Enjoy the convenience

As a truck driver, you're usually at other people's beck and call.  Why not sit back and enjoy having someone come to you, for a change? If you know emergency roadside services will be the fastest option for getting your truck rolling again, you can relax and let the mechanics do the hard work.

3 - Many repairs really don't need a service bay

Sure, if something goes wrong, your truck may simply have to go to a shop. However, you might be surprised at just how many mechanical problems can be fixed by a good mechanic on the roadside - especially if they know ahead of time what the issue is. Unless your engine has literally blown up, don't assume a tow is inevitable until calling for emergency repair and seeing what the service shop says.
